About the event
Since ancient times, there have always been gods and goddesses associated with witchcraft.
In this class, Rebecca Beattie introduces two important deities of magic. While Herne the Hunter is one of England's most famous horned God figures, Cerridwen's cauldron of rebirth and inspiration has its roots in medieval Welsh mythology. Both deities are now key figures in modern pagan practice. First, Rebecca outlines contemporary views of Herne and Cerridwen, delving into lore, legend and sacred items. She then explores ways to build a relationship with these figures. The class concludes with a pathworking to initiate a working connection.
The 'Meeting the Gods' series is dedicated to introducing specific gods and goddesses. Each class focuses on two or more deities associated with a particular theme. Participants are then given guidance on how to 'meet' and build relationships with them, alongside what might be expected from such work.
Rebecca Beattie has spent over two decades studying and practising witchcraft. A Wiccan priestess of 15 years, she has a rich understanding of the history and traditions underpinning pagan practice. She also has a doctorate in Creative Writing and is a published author.
